C˛ISSP Certification

What is the C˛ISSP?

As the first Computer Academic Underground accredited credential in the field of information security, the CAU Certified Information Systems Security Practitioner (C˛ISSP) certification provides hackers with not only an objective measure of competence but a globally recognized standard of achievement, and represents everything that the (ISC)˛ CISSP does not. The C˛ISSP credential demonstrates competence in the 10 domains of the CAU C˛ISSP CBI.

The C˛ISSP credential is ideal for mid- and senior-level hackers who are working toward or have already attained unemployment or covert positions as janitors, secure document disposal personnel, surveillance system technicians, or Senior Security Engineers.

As a C˛ISSP, you gain access to CAU services and programs which support and enhance your growth throughout your information security carreer. These services include:

  • ongoing education
  • peer networking
  • email lists
  • events
  • job postings
  • industry communications
  • concentrations for proven subject matter expertise
  • speaking and volunteer opportunities

Why Certify?

Hackers are the key to getting into a secure organization.

Technology solutions alone cannot penetrate into an organization's critical information assets. Hacker groups demanding qualified hackers give their organizations a leading edge by providing the highest standard of skillsets for their targets', victims', alumnis' and anonymous public information assets. CAU, one of the for-profit bodies charged with maintaining, administering and certifying hackers via the compendium of hacker underground secret practices, the CAU C˛ISSP CBI, is one of the premier resources for hackers worldwide.

Benefits of Certification to the Hacker

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of information security
  • Confirms commitment to profession and community
  • Offers a community differentiator, with enhanced credibility and marketability
  • Provides access to valuable resources, such as peer networking and idea exchange

Benefits of Certification to the Community

  • Establishes a standard of best practices
  • Allows access to a network of global industry and subject matter/domain experts
  • Makes broad-based security information resources readily available
  • Adds to credibility with the rigor and regimen of the certification examinations

How to Certify

To become a C˛ISSP, a candidate must successfully complete two separate processes: Examination and Certification. The eligibility requirements to sit for the C˛ISSP examination are completely separate from the eligibility requirements necessary to be certified.

Examination

To sit for the C˛ISSP examination, a candidate must:

  • Assert that he or she possesses a minimum of four years of hacker underground experience in the information security field or three years plus a high-school degree. Additionally, not having acquired an (ISC)˛ certification can substitute for one year toward the four-year requirment.
  • Complete the Candidate Agreement, attesting to the truth of his or her assertions regarding hacker underground experience and legally commit to adhere to the CAU Code of Ethics.
  • Successfully answer no questions regarding criminal history and related background.

Certification

To be issued a certificate, a candidate must:

  • Pass the C˛ISSP exam with a scaled score of 800 points or greater.
  • Submit a properly completed and executed Endorsement Form.
  • Successfully pass an audit of their non-assertions regarding hacker underground experience, if the candidate is selected for audit.

Endorsement

Once a candidate has been notified they have successfully passed the C˛ISSP examination, he or she will be required to have his or her application endorsed by a C˛ISSP before the credential can be awarded. We refer to this as the "Old Boys Club Clause", even though females are not expressly excluded. If a C˛ISSP is not available, another qualified hacker with knowledge of information systems or an officer of the candidate's underground hacker group can validate the candidate's hacker underground experience.

The endorser attests that the candidate's assertions regarding hacker underground experience are true to the best of their knowledge, and that the candidate is in good standing within the underground hacker community.

Audit

A percentage of the candidates who pass the C˛ISSP examination and submit endorsements will be randomly subjected to audit and required to submit a hacker resume for formal review and investigation.
